The IBM Color Graphics Card was a full-length (13") 8-bit ISA card providing CGA colour graphics.

The card was fitted to the IBM Personal Computer XT and IBM Portable Computer.


Specifications

  • CGA video, providing 320x200 4-colour graphics or 16-colour 80x25 text modes
  • 16KB RAM
  • DB9 'RGBI' socket for connection to a monitor (such as the IBM 5153 Color Display)
  • RCA jack for connection to NTSC TV
  • Motorla MC6845 CRT controller


Video Outputs

In addition to the two outputs on the rear of the card, the card had an internal composite output via a 4-pin header (P1), as used in the IBM Portable Computer to provide video its internal screen.
