IBM's Personal Computer AT (PC/AT) (announced August 1984) range built on the success of the PC/XT it replaced, the main development being the 80286 CPU (the 80286 based PC/XT 5162 was launched later, in 1985).

Cosmetically, the PC/XT had a new design from the preceeding PC/XT.

The PC/AT range was discontinued in 1986, being replaced by the faster IBM PS/2 range.
