GPIO Interface Board (Gerbers)

This PCB is a GPIO Interface Board for Raspberry Pi featuring 4x opto-isolated inputs, 8x Darlington outputs, and 1-wire bus for temperature sensors.

Coming Soon – Instant Digital Download of Gerber files, for PCB production.

The Lo-tech GPIO Interface Board rev.2 enables the connection of Raspberry Pi with 40-pin GPIO headers (A+/B+/2B/3) to the outside world, featuring:

  • 4x opto-isolated inputs
  • 8x open-collector outputs (max. 30V/200mA)
  • Maxim 1-wire bus connection (eg for 18B20 temperature sensor)
  • Fused 5V power header (for powering the Raspberry Pi)

The board has been designed to fit directly on top of the RaspberryPi Model A+, B+, 2B and 3 following the HAT physical dimensions.

This board is ideal for home automation and school projects and anyone wanting the extra challenge of assembling some hardware for the RaspberryPi. See wiki page for full product detail.

This product is a digital download in Gerber format. These files can be used to manufacture the boards, for example via Seeed Studio Fusion service.

  • Where can I get the parts?

The Lo-tech wiki maintains parts lists for boards, with order codes for Mouser or Farnell (or sometimes both). DigiKey is another popular supplier.

  • Where can I get PCBs made?

All Lo-tech boards have been prototyped through Seeed Studio, meaning you can have confidence that the Gerbers can be used there to produce high-quality PCBs. Note: Lo-tech has no affiliation to Seeed Studio, other than being a long-standing customer!

  • What are Gerber files?

Gerber files are like PDFs but for PCBs. They are used by PCB manufacturers to make boards.
